Esther 8:10 And he wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus and sealed it with the king’s signet ring. Then he sent the letters by mounted couriers riding on swift horses that were used in the king’s service, bred from the royal stud,

Mordecai, having basically received Haman’s former position and given the king’s signet ring, issued this decree in the king’s name and sealed it with the king’s mark. Thus, immediately after stamping the letters, he mailed them off on the fastest horses in the kingdom – horses that were bred from the best of the best! Why was Mordecai willing to pay for overnight shipping? Because he understood that people’s lives were at stake.
